There is a great deal of controversy around dietary supplements. Because most of us don’t consume enough fruit and vegetables, several health specialists argue that they are necessary to compensate for this deficiency in our diets.

Folic acid is a synthetic (i.e., non-natural) form of folate that is found in supplements and fortified foods like rice, pasta, bread, and some breakfast cereals.
